Special Area Project

Special Area Project (SAP) is one of the core areas of Solidarity Nepal that includes various programs related with Human Rights, Water Supply and Traffic Awareness.

We respect human rights in our operations, not just because doing so fosters a stable social environment, but more importantly, because it is the right and responsible thing to do.

Similarly, we are working for Water Supply projects in various rural areas of Nepal to solve safe drinking water problem. And Traffic Awareness campaign in urban area to protect people from road accidents.

Human Rights:

Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, whatever our nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, or any other status. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible.

We are working to solve major Human Rights issues in Nepal that includes Child Rights and Gender Discriminations.

Water Supply:

Water Supply Project is the Special Area Project of Solidarity Nepal that is dedicated to solve the water supply problem.

Water supply in Nepal is a very interesting topic to talk about. Because of the remoteness of many projects combined with the lack of proper funds for the district water supply offices and a hand full of other reasons, the data collection for potable water coverage in Nepal is uncertain. Official figures put the total urban coverage about 60% and rural coverage 40%. Many Nepalese are facing the problem of safe drinking water in both Urban and Rural area.

Traffic Awareness:

Traffic Awareness Program is Special Area Project (SAP) of Solidarity Nepal. It is associated with the term Road Traffic Safety which is an indication of how safe individual users are on some particular road, or on the roads belonging to some region. The main danger to road users is the likelihood of a traffic collision. Such dangers can be reduced by individual road users operating cautiously and defensively, by building roads in alignment with competent traffic engineering  practices, by the application of rational traffic control methods, and by designing road vehicles so they are more able to avoid and survive collisions.
